Independence Revelations!

As India Celebrated its 61st year of Independence, my morning was awakened by some loud patriotic music, seldom played around the year, in my society! My idea of Independence was to have a good time with my friends trying to talk to every possible topic under the sun and that's what I did because yesterday was not only the independence day of our country but also gave me a little Independence from the boring routine of going to office!

Independence came to us at a cost 61 years back, but have we been able to live up to it? Yes we have had a lot of economic development over the last decade but is that all that we would require to have as a country ?

I walked to one of the largest malls, wherein the management had organised a flag-hoisting ceremony and while the flag got hoisted there was national anthem being sung and everyone stopped where they were! I was overwhelmed with pride, with literally tears in my eyes! What caught my sight was a child who didn't look to be from the lucky population of the country (read the HAVE's) but he stood there right below the escalator with his head held high, that was a sight to see! A child who definitely has his thoughts and passion at the right place! But conversely there were another bunch of kids strolling and giggling even as the national anthem was being played! That brings me to the point of neing taught to do the right thing even if its not perfect! Education is the key word for our country! We need it,need it BIG TIME! I am sure that the kid who waited there was taught by someone to stand/ halt while the National Anthem is being played! Its the utmost honour that you could possibly give to your motherland!

I walked after the anthem thinking about how our country could develop because there doesn't seem to be a unified effort coming from the Central and State Goverments towards this. Besides there are also beauraucratic hurdles which doesn't help the cause! Fortunately I didn't have to strain myself for long as I came across a news programme which showed many people who are trying to pass the education to the deprieved! There was a lot of talk about the rural-urban divide but inspite of that the rural population did take a step forward! That's a HAPPY but not a sign to rest!

India needs to be Educated the right things if not the right answers!!!!!! Even if its not the Text books we should teach vocational subjects to kids who could earn money and support their families rather than being lured to take part in political processions to hamper the peace in the country!

Educate India to be really Independent that's when we could really celebrate the Independence Day!
